5 good reasons to come to Sorrento in autumn

Updated: Mar 25, 2022

Autumn weekend in Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast. One of the paradises of southern Italy that deserves to be visited and experienced even outside the warm seasons.

Besides the beaches, the sea and the summer climate, there is much more.

Architectural and (even more) natural masterpieces, wonders to be enjoyed at the table and panoramas to eat with the eyes. Sorrento is enchanting to visit even in autumn, let's see why:

The tranquillity: Sorrento in the summer months is crowded with tourists from all over the world. In the low season the pace of the town slowly returns and every picturesque corner of its historic alleyways can be visited in complete serenity. Similarly, the beautiful neighbouring towns of Positano, Pompeii and Capri can be admired in their full beauty;

The mild climate: November, although in late autumn, is a month with still pleasant temperatures, especially during the day. In recent years, many visitors are still able to bathe in the sea and enjoy the wonderful views of the Sorrento Peninsula with the sun shining;

The convenience: In the low season the prices of accommodation and services are lower. Reaching the Sorrento Peninsula by plane and then with a private transfer costs half as much as staying in a hotel and staying in town;

The approach of Christmas: December is just around the corner and everything is in turmoil for Christmas. Many events take place in Sorrento in the run-up to the festivities: from crazy black friday discounts to exhibitions of crib art, and professional cinema days that host many Italian actors. At the end of November there is also the lighting of the beautiful Christmas tree in Piazza Tasso, a spectacle not to be missed!

Shopping and gastronomy: Our city's shops are ideal for shopping enthusiasts: not only clothing but also accessories and lots of gastronomy with typical local products. In addition, traditional Neapolitan cuisine will delight the most discerning palates.
